OVERVIEW

Kyusik joined Richards Buell Sutton in May 2023, as a summer student and returned to article after graduating from the Peter A. Allard School of Law.

He was born and raised in South Korea, and came to Vancouver when he was 16. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of British Columbia with a major in Psychology.

During law school, Kyusik spent a semester studying at the National University of Singapore. He also volunteered for Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP), where he provided legal assistance and information to individuals of limited means.

Before joining RBS, Kyusik worked as a legal intern at a boutique criminal law firm in Vancouver.

Outside the office, Kyusik enjoys playing baseball with the Asian community, writing journals, and traveling.

Before entering law school, Kyusik worked as a translator/interpreter in South Korea for a year.

As a Korean citizen, he duly served his military duty as an infantry division leader in 2021 and 2022. He received Ministerial Commendation from the Minister of Korean National Defence and a division Commander’s Commendation for outstanding performance during his military service.

During his post-secondary education, Kyusik received two faculty of arts international scholarships and two faculty of law international scholarships.
