OVERVIEW

Heather joined Richards Buell Sutton in May 2024 as a summer student. She will return to the University of Victoria to finish her law degree in 2025.

Heather was born in Stamford, Connecticut, and then raised in Toronto, Ontario. Prior to law school, Heather attended the University of Western Ontario where she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the Faculty of Media & Information Studies. During that time, Heather competed at the national level in the pentathlon; a multi sport track & field event consisting of the 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and the 800m. In her final year she was named team captain.

During her legal education, Heather volunteered part-time as a human rights advocate at the Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition. Additionally, she participated on the basketball, soccer and volleyball law intramural teams.

Before joining RBS, Heather gained experience in roles such as data analytics at the Canadian Football League, legal marketing at a mid-sized firm in Ontario, and retail at Lululemon and Alpine Pro.

Outside of the office, Heather is an avid outdoors enthusiast, enjoying activities such as mountain biking, back country skiing, surfing and trail running.
