I couldn’t have asked for a better articling experience. In fact, I do not think I would have been a lawyer who practices in Wealth Preservation law today, had it not been for the exposure that I first received in 2020 as a summer student at RBS. The lawyers and staff allowed me to discover my hidden legal passions, all while promoting my creative outlook in a supportive environment. To put it short, my career here has been absolutely life changing!

As an articling student at RBS, I was surrounded by an incredible team of lawyers and staff. I always felt that I had the mentorship and resources necessary to foster my growth as a lawyer. RBS' articling rotations allowed me to gain experience in several areas of law, and ultimately, I was able to find my passion and RBS encouraged me to pursue the type of work that I was particularly interested in. "I have fond memories of my time as a summer student and with my articles. Unsure of practicing as a solicitor or litigator, I wanted to maximize my exposure to both practices, and RBS fully supported my decision. My solicitor’s rotation ranged from participating in a multi-million dollar corporate reorganization to directly conducting a purchase of a small business (through the guidance and support of a partner at the firm). My litigation experience was highlighted by attending numerous mediations, working closely with clients on their matters, and appearing at the Court of Appeal. The icing on the cake was forming a close comradery with my fellow articling student, associates and staff through social activities throughout the year, including volunteering at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, attending Vancouver Canadians baseball games, and picking cabbages (yes, cabbages) at a local farm."
